ECG (electrocardiogram)

An ECG examination is a simple and painless method that helps diagnose many heart conditions as well
as the most feared acute myocardial infarction. The examination is indicated by a physician and
performed directly in the doctor's office by a nurse. The patient does not need any specific preparation for
this examination. During the examination, the patient undresses to the waist, removes their watch, and
exposes their ankles for electrode placement. The nurse then moistens the skin and places suction
electrodes on it; six on the chest and one each on the upper and lower limbs. The patient is then instructed
to breathe calmly. In the office, we use computerized ECG with automatic recording. The entire
examination takes several minutes.
