MUDr. Adriana Youngová
Adriana Youngová graduated from the Motol Medical Faculty of Charles University in 1996. She went on to gain clinical practice at the hospital in Kralupy nad Vltavou, at the hospital of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in Prague 1 and at the Thomayer University Hospital in Prague 4. In 2000 she received her post-graduate qualification as a general physician (physician of internal medicine), and this was followed in 2002 by the same qualification in general practice. She worked as a general practitioner in Prague 8 (Karlín) with Dr. Seifert, Ph.D. from 2002 to 2009.
Since 2005 she has been lecturing at the First Medical Faculty of Charles University at the department of General Practice, as well as lecturing as part of postgraduate courses for general practitioners. She publishes in Czech medical journals, especially in the areas of palliative medicine and psychiatry. At present she is authoring the chapters on palliative medicine and pain management for a new textbook on general practice.
From January 2010 she has completely refurbished premises for a private practice in Prague Dejvice, which she opened on 1st September 2010.
She is a member of the Society of General Practitioners (part of the Czech Medical Society of J. E. Purkyně) and of the Czech society of palliative medicine. She helped in the opening of the first Slovak hospice close to her home town.
Dana Konfrštová graduated from the Royal Vinohrady Medical Faculty of Charles University in 1995. She went on to gain clinical practice at the hospital in Svitavy, where she worked as a general physician (internist). She worked here until 2004 and gained experience both on the general ward and in intensive care. She also provided consultative services for other departments, notably in pre-operative examinations and in post-operative care, and also provided outpatient cardiological and diabetological care. In 2000 she received her post-graduate qualification as a general physician (physician of internal medicine). She went on to specialise in care of the elderly (geriatrics). In 2004 she began work at Motol Hospital in Prague, where she continued to develop this specialism, and in 2010 received a post-graduate qualification in geriatrics. She is a member of the Czech Geriatric and Gerontological Society of J. E. Purkyně. She continues her professional development by participating in seminars on general medicine and geriatrics and also a course on palliative care. She is currently preparing to qualify additionally as a general practitioner.
MUDr. Barbora Hirnerová
Barbora Hirnerová graduated
from the first medical faculty of Charles University in Prague in 2007.
She went on to gain clinical practice at the hospital in Litoměřice as a general physician. In 2009 she completed the first stage of the process leading to post-graduate qualification in general medicine and since then worked independently both in the intensive care unit and in the out-of-hours “LSPP” service for non-emergency patients. She is preparing for her post-graduate qualification as a general practitioner and joined us in April 2011.
In 2010 and 2011 she completed an acupuncture course by successfully passing the final examination.
Bc. Žofie Priharová, DiS.
Žofie Priharová completed her basic schooling as a nurse in 2002, and went on to qualify fully as a nurse in 2005. In 2010 she gained a bachelor's university degree in nursing from the First Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. She gained her clinical experience at the Royal Vinohrady University Hospital as a surgical nurse, and has since worked in a home care agency and in an occupational health clinic. Her professional interests include cardiologyand care of stoma.
Olga Procházková, DiS.
Olga Procházková completed her secondary schooling at the "gymnasium" in Český Brod in 2002 and went on to qualify fully as a nurse at the nursing school of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Prague in 2005. She gained her clinical experience at the third cardiological unit of the Royal Vinohrady hospital in Prague. She went on to work in a clinic providing general and specialised care as part of the international company Medicover, before spending a year in the intensive care unit of the hospital in Kolín. Her last position was at a psychiatric clinic in Prague.
David Dobiáš worked for more than 12 years at the psychiatric clinic of General University Hospital in Prague as a physiotherapist and ergotherapist. This provided rich experience in dealing with a wide range of psychosomatic disorders and the means by which they find their expression in the body. He specialised in massage and individual exercising and came to master an empathic approach to soft techniques for manipulativetherapy. David uses the techniques developed by the Prague myoskeletal school and complements these with the Feldenkrais principle of awareness through movement. As part of his therapy he offers kinesiological analysis, instruction and education in improving patterns of movement, in principles for a healthy back and ergonomics of the working environment. He also works privately as a physio/ergotherapist for old and disabled people.
Zuzana Lebedová graduated from the First Medical Faculty of Charles University in 1995 and qualified as a psychiatrist in 1998. Her professional competence in this specialism was accredited by the Ministry of Health in 2007 and in 2008 she gained a licence from the Czech Medical Chamber for private practice and counselling in psychiatry. In 2009 she specialised in systematic psychotherapy. She has been training for many years in group dynamic therapy and PBSP therapy, together with bodywork, numerous seminars of shorter duration focused mostly on working with trauma. She has spent many years of her professional life working in some of the country's best respected crisis centres (RIAPS and CKI) as a outpatient psychiatrist and therapist as well as director of a psychiatric ward. She has also worked at the Kosmonosy psychiatric unit and at the Budějovická polyclinic. At present she has a private practice for counselling and psychotherapy in Prague and works shifts at the Centre for Crisis Intervention (CKI). She also occasionally holds seminars on PBSP therapy for professionals in the helping professions and for the general public. She is a member of the Czech Medical Society of J. E. Purkyně and the PBSP Association. She works with adult patients and clients.
